The 2017 Fall season is a wrap.

The games today were against our teammates on the
Imagine Mako Polo and the Brooklyn Heights St. Francis teams, both of which we had beaten before.

The first game, against the Makos, did not go as planned. The Makos jumped ahead with five goals in the first, one coming from a five-meter penalty shot. The Girls had their own five-meter shot and Genevieve Randazzo got the goal. The second quarter was better with the Makos and the Girls going goal for goal, each putting up three. The Girls scored on an Olivia Smith pass to Bebe Currie and a Genevieve pass to Elektra Urbatsch. The third goal was made after Genevieve hit the post, got the rebound and passed it to Elektra for the goal. The half ended 8-4. The Girls kept up the pressure in the third and Bebe passed to Elektra for a goal, Olivia got the ball to Bebe who scored and then a great back and forth between Mia Stankovic and Elektra gave the Girls three in the third and the Makos only answered with a single goal. Julia Wolfson racked up a third exclusion so we we went into the fourth down a player but with a chance, down only 9-7. But the Makos kicked it back into high gear in the fourth and even with a great pass from Elektra to Olivia for a score and an Electra goal off her own rebound, the Makos scored 5 so the Girls went down 15-9.

The Girls controlled the next game against St. Francis from the beginning. Bebe had an assist on a Genevieve goal and scored herself when a Genevieve pass found her. Olivia passed to Elektra and the score was 3-0. The second was St. Francis's best with three goals. But the Girls scored three of their own, with Fiona Averill throwing to Bebe, Maggie scoring from the wing and then Elektra scoring off a rebound after a Julia to Talia Willscher attempt missed. Julia and Talia each managed a steal in the second and the half ended 6-3. The third quarter had only a single goal by Electra while St. Francis managed two. Going in to the last quarter it was 7-5. But for the last quarter of the season, the Girls pulled out all the stops. Genevieve had a five-meter shot, missed and got the goal off her own rebound. Julia found Elektra for a goal, Talia threw to Genevieve for a third goal and then got the ball to Maggie and the game ended 11-5.

For a new team with so many new players, I hope that the Girls see how far they have come in a short three months. They have a great foundation to work with. Here's to a New Year and a great Spring season!

Let's Go Brooklyn Girls!!!
