Last June, when a group of Brooklyn Heights St. Francis U15 players made the trek to the Lake Mohawk Pool in Sparta, New Jersey, who should be waiting for them at an exhibition tournament set up by Brooklyn Wets founder Granger Abuhoff? Y Pro Water Polo. The Sheepshead Bay-based boy’s club — BHSF rivals the past decade — and the Grays from St. Benedict Prep in Newark, NJ, joined BHSF for a round-robin tournament held at an absolutely stunning outdoor facility nestled in the northwestern corner of the state.

TotalWaterPolo.com has the complete story about our players’ experiences with polo under blue skies, including a quote from BHSF’s Elijah Fox.

“Once I got over the initial shock of the pool being perhaps the coldest water I’ve ever swum in, I was taken by the raw authenticity of playing under the sun,” Fox said.

Also making the trip were: Owen Comer, Calvin Corpus, Maya Goldgisser, Cash Mills, Brian and Mark Polito, Oscar Radu, Genevieve and Owen Randazzo, David Rogovoy, Jyoti and Melchior Tamisier-Fayard, and Richard Vilcinsh.
